A Bit of Spring Decor

Do you revamp your whole house every season or holiday? I generally don't, though I do like to sprinkle seasonal decor throughout my home. Thanksgiving through the winter holidays is the exception, when I want to bring a festive touch to every room. My home then tends to go dormant through the winter with perhaps a single vignette to acknowledge special days.

But then spring arrives and I want to add cheery notes throughout the house! I thought I'd share this year's spring touches.

In the front entry I've styled the chest with pink and white flowers (and one fuchsia-colored). They're unabashedly faux since they will remain for at least a month. The crystal vase catches the morning light.

Several days before Easter I added a basket filled with sweet bunnies and colorful eggs that will be replaced next week.

Bold tulips highlight the mantel in the family room. They're safely out of the way of the tails on our two black labs!

I brought out this beautiful figural vase to hold more tulips on the table in the  breakfast nook. It has been stowed in the back of the "decoration closet" and consequently I haven't remembered to use it in the last few years.

I certainly will remember it next year! It has an oval shape with different scenes on front and back.

I love the little surprises!

I placed porcelain bunnies in the kitchen windows among white peonies. I elevated them on pedestal cake plates so that they're more visible behind the faucet. To read more about the faucet you might want to visit Our Renovated Kitchen.

I also took these bunnies from my Welcoming Spring with a Fluffle of Bunnies table to style the glassware cabinet in the kitchen. One of my favorite things that we did in our kitchen renovation was the installation of this glassware cabinet to showcase my collection of vintage crystal and provide a place for ever-changing vignettes. This shelf is always styled for seasons or holidays.

The pretty aluminum rabbit was a gift from my MIL. He adds a contrasting texture against the pale yellow salad plates, used recently in A Table Setting in Blue and Yellow.

My spring decor has settled into the areas of the house where we spend the most time. I've not forgotten the dining room, where tulips form the centerpiece, waiting for my next tablescape!

I'd love to hear how you've added a bit of spring decor to your house!

 Happy Spring!

  2. Everything looks so pretty Sandra! I love all your bunnies! I leave mine out after Easter too, they're just so perfect for Spring. Your faux tulips look amazing, I thought they were real until I noticed the vases in your dining room didn't have any water in them!

    3. Thank you, Myrna! I look forward to bringing out the bunnies every spring but it was fun to add the deer vase to the mix. I'm lucky to have a closet in our mostly unused guest room to store all my totes; it helps keep me organized.

    1. Thank you, Allyson! I love how the tulips really stand out against the stone fireplace. The vases are indeed vintage, but since they're not marked on the bottom I can't tell much more than that.
