The Blues of Vintage Glassware

Hello! I've got quite a treat for you today! After a 15-month hiatus, the 44th Vintage and Collectible Glass Show was hosted in October by the Peach State Depression Glass Club. There weren't as many vendors, but they more than made up for it by bringing many more pieces of gorgeous vintage and antique glassware. I bought a few and in the process took lots of photos to share with you!

Without further delay, I'm going to start with The Blues!

Such beautiful shades of blue in gorgeous patterns — blown, pressed, etched, gilded, plain!

The show covered the period 1870-1970. I love that both decorative and practical glassware was produced!

Imagine serving iced tea in these!

I have collected several pieces of the pattern shown below — 'Caprice Moonlight Blue' produced by Cambridge Glass. I've used them in several tablescapes, such as An Easter Table with Hydrangeas and Tulips for Easter.

From the artful to the whimsical!

I hope you enjoyed this tour of the Blues. There is more to come!

    1. Thanks! I go to all their shows though I'm not a member. Their meetings are too difficult to get to in rush hour Atlanta traffic!

    1. Jeanne, I hope you enjoyed these examples -- there's so many I didn't photograph. And all these pieces were in great condition! There are a number of glass clubs and organizations that host shows like this. You might find one near you at http://www.ndga.net/calendar.php
