A Tray for a Summer Gardener

Would you love to add a bit of seasonal decor to a spot in your house? Perhaps in an entryway, or a room where everyone gathers?

Then consider using a tray as the basis! Besides being a confined space that highlights a group of interesting items, it's portable and can be moved around your house to dress up a table or move out of the way as needed.

Oh, did I mention that it's fun to do?!

Today I'm joining Katherine from Katherine's Corner who has organized a tour with some amazing bloggers who will be sharing fourteen different ways of styling trays to capture the feeling of summer. Whether you've just been to MaryJo's master"Pieces" of my life or have come directly here, welcome!!

Now, let me show you my tray to delight a gardener in summer!

Ever since we remodeled our kitchen I've thoroughly enjoyed having a large island that is both very functional and has room to place changing seasonal decor.  So I've placed the tray here where we can enjoy it throughout the day.

Summer for me is the time to delight in the result of all that spring gardening entails. But there's always room to plant a few more flowers, isn't there? And I'll need a few things, such as peat starter pots for seeds,

a dwarf morning glory that will bloom all summer in a pretty shade of blue,

and plant markers so I'll remember what I planted. (You wouldn't believe how many times I've lost track of what went where LOL!)

It's all gathered here in a wooden tray that we received recently bearing a gift of summer sausage and several types of cheese.

Of course you need watering cans . . .

a good pair of gardening gloves, and a wide-brimmed hat to shield face and shoulders from the sun. Pretty and practical!

I've got seeds for both herbs and flowers. Though it's mid-July, we have a long growing season in North Georgia and these will still be going strong in late October.

Ready to start!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I know you'll want to head on over to the next stop on the tour — Everyday Edits. You'll surely be inspired by Laura's tray!
