I love to decorate for Halloween! There's such a range of spooky, whimsical, or scary themes to choose from and you are limited only by your imagination!
I'm excited to introduce you to some stylists who also love to
decorate for Halloween! We are sharing our spooky ideas in a
blog hop hosted by Rita of Panoply. If you've come from Celebrate and Decorate — welcome! The info for all the Halloween tablescapes is listed at the end of this post.
I pulled out a cache of Halloween things I've had stashed away since my
daughter was younger and decided to style a supper table that would
appeal to kids before they headed out the door to trick-or-treat.
The place settings begin with white dinner plates topped by enchantingly spooky salad plates (or pasta bowls) in four different designs. Above the plates are eerie figures that are sure to delight!
Beneath the plates are felt spider webs in black, contrasting with the orange tablecloth. Water glasses with black stems stand next to plum sherry glasses enveloped in chrome which will hold a taste of those wonderfully named kid-friendly Halloween potions.
Mini cauldrons hold Halloween symbols that serve as place cards for those too young to read.
Two sets of mischievous salt and pepper shakers sit on opposite sides of the table.
The orange and black checked napkins were used last year, but this time they're held by creepy skeletonized fingers.
For a centerpiece I collected sticks from my yard and set them in a very modern black vase. Felt ghosts and bats have found a roost in the branches!
I added some new bowls and decor pieces to the buffet along with four figural candlesticks that were always my daughter's favorites.
and Frankenstein's monster.
Have a boo-tiful Halloween!!

Sandra! So much Halloween cuteness at one table!!! Love the little ghost holding the BOO! And I can see why your daughter loved those little candle holder figures- too fun! Your ghostly hollow is a treat for the eyes!! Have a fun Halloween!!🧡🎃
ReplyDeleteThanks Ann! I was more into the younger side of Halloween this year.
DeleteLove love your table! Those plates are so cute! I love your creepy napkin holders with a death grip on the napkin haha. Lots of fun details and this really says Halloween to me! Great job! So fun to blog hop with you!
ReplyDeleteKarin
Thank you, Karin! I had so much fun putting this one together!
DeleteSandra, your cute table brought a smile to my face -- so many fun details! Blessings, Cecilia @My Thrift Store Addiction
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice thing to say, Cecilia! Thank you!
DeleteWhat a colorful and fun table! The napkin rings are fabulous!! Happy Halloween
ReplyDeleteThanks, Patti! I didn't even wait for a sale -- I snapped up the napkin rings as soon as I saw them, lol.
DeleteThis is so delightful, Sandra. I adore the fact that you still have your stash of Halloween things from when your daughter was young. Kids love Halloween so much, it really can turn most anyone into a Halloween lover. I'm a late comer to the scene, as I was always performing with the ballet the week of Halloween, so I missed quite a bit of what all the excitement was for kids (other than their daytime parties/parades at school when I took a day off from work). I look forward to enjoying this fun with my granddaughter. Your candlesticks, plates and little spooky characters at each place setting are super cute. Thanks for bringing you nostalgic decor to the table in this hop. Oh, and have those lamps on the sideboard always been there? They look perfect with this look!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Rita! I never decorated for holidays except Christmas until my daughter came along. Suddenly it was so much fun to do and see her delight! I still enjoy doing so even after she grew up and moved away. I know it will be a special experience for you and your granddaughter. As for the lamps, yes they've always been there -- an impulse buy I've never regretted.
DeleteSandra, I would be over the moon with delight sitting at your table before trick-or-treating! The whole theme is perfect for Oct. 31 :)
ReplyDeleteHappy October hugs,
Rachelle
Thanks, Rachelle! I really enjoy seeing all the trick-or-treaters on Halloween.
DeleteSandra, you have so many cute Halloween items. The table you set is absolutely precious with those sweet plates and darling centerpiece. Any child or grown up would love having a seat at this table before they set off to trick or treat. It has been such a joy to join you on this hop. Happy fall!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Shannon, for your sweet comments! An early dinner on Halloween is a long-standing tradition.
DeleteSandra, I love the traditional orange and black for Halloween. How wonderful that you still have decor from when your daughter was young and now you can pull it out and it brings back fond memories. The plates are really cute and I love that you also dressed your buffet for the occasion. It is always a treat to hop with you. Happy Autumn!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Pam! I've not kept allll the Halloween decor! Just her favorites.
DeleteSandra, really liked the placemat on top of the orange tablecloth. It works really well with your plates. I especially loved the napkins and how well they accompanied the rest of the table setting. Each setting has it's own group of Halloween creatures to join the diner for dinner. What fun. Have a Happy Halloween! Lynne
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Lynne! The spider web placemats are such fun to use and the plates are darn cute.
DeleteSandra,
ReplyDeleteThis is so totally delightful!! LOVE those salad plates and the napkins holder are to die for...literallly! LOL!! And I adore those cute little figures on the buffet!! Thanks so much for sharing and thanks so much for visiting!!!
Hugs,
Deb
Thanks, Debbie! I got the napkin holders this year -- ghoulishly fun to use!
DeleteHow delightful Sandra, what child {or adult!} wouldn't clap with glee to have a chance to sit at this fun table! The plates are so cute and the figures at each place are adorable!!! Love the centerpiece and the other creepy but not too scary touches~ the sideboard is always one of my favorite parts of your tablescapes and it is oh so cute today! I love all the funny Frankensteins! You can't beat a black and orange color palette for a Halloween scene, Love it all and I smiled all the way through your post!
ReplyDeleteJenna
Thanks so much, Jenna, for your sweet comments! I wanted to channel the wonder of Halloween from a child's point of view where just a tiny bit scary is fun. I'm so glad to hear you smiled :) .
DeleteSandra, such a fun tablescape with traditional orange and black. Your ghost holding the boo sign is darling. How sweet to have those childhood candle holders. They are so darn cute. Salt and pepper shakers to go perfectly with your table are a great touch. Love the spider web placemats. The plates are lovely. Love that you also dressed your buffet for this ghostly tablescape. Always a pleasure hopping with you.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Linda! I had a lot of fun setting a table that veered toward the cute side of Halloween. It had been at least 10 years since I had unpacked the tote with the candlesticks and I'm so glad I did! I was on a roll by the time I got to the buffet lol.
DeleteYou set a really nice, beautiful Halloween table Sandra. Nostalgia and memories...I adore those salad plates so much...most likely because I have a set just like them from many moons ago. Perfect for bewitching the little ones before going out on their candy hunt. There used to be an old man who was kinda scary in our neighborhood who would make us kids do tricks before he would give us candy...now that I think about that...he was a little more than kinds scary. LOL
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Kari
Thank you, Kari! I was feeling a bit nostalgic for the Halloweens I enjoyed with my daughter. All the decorations and the wonderful costumes. They were nothing like my childhood trick-or-treating experience, starting with printed costumes and matching masks up to my last foray when trick-or-treat was mandated to daylight hours :(
DeleteSandra, your Ghostly Hollow table is a delight to the eyes --- so fun and festive for Halloween! Especially love those spectacular sherry glasses, and skeleton napkin rings.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debbee! I like mixing the old with the new and couldn't resist adding the vintage glasses. The napkin rings are fabulous (and substantial)!
DeleteAw...so cute, and I hope you have a Bootiful Halloween, too! I love all the little details on your table: the luncheon plates; the little figurines at each place setting; and the adorable salt and pepper shaker sets at each end of your table. The crow and pumpkin S&P set is my favorite. I love it! I also like your little figurines on your server. They are cute and funny!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ricki! I have developed a thing (some would say obsession) for salt and pepper shakers. They add so much pizzazz for such a little footprint. I enjoyed staying on the cute side of Halloween this year.
DeleteHow wonderful that you still have all of those little treasures! You have decked out your table perfectly with all of your fun figurines. I especially like the cute little salt and pepper shakers! Have a wonderful Halloween!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Chloe! I didn't realize how many there were until I put them all in one place instead of spreading them around the house. LOL. I think it's fun to set tables with cute accessories like the shakers.
DeleteSandra, I love your cute Halloween table. For me, it has such a retro feel, especially your plates and all of the cute figurines. The salt and pepper shakers are adorable and I adore the cute candlesticks: Dracula, a witch, ghost and Frankenstein with their clever little signs. Your cauldron place cards are a great idea. Each adorable figure that is at each of the place settings stole my heart. The look makes me think of my childhood. So cool.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I sort of reached back in time to when my daughter was small for inspiration! So very glad you stopped by and left your sweet comments.
DeleteSandra, I love your table since it has such a retro feel. Starting with your adorable plates and the accompanying figures. Something right out of my childhood. Your Dracula, ghost, witch and Frankenstein candleholders with their cute signs stole my heart. So does your unique salt and pepper shakers. I relived all of my Halloween experiences through your fun tablescape. Happy Halloween.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the theme! I had such fun pulling it together. Hoping all your Halloween experiences are fun and treat-filled!
DeleteNice Halloween decorated table. I especially like the orange plates with all the different ghostly scenes. The kids will be delighted at Halloween to see your table.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Thelma! The plates are only slightly scary -- although they are Very orange!
DeleteSandra, Your table keeps the “Happy” in Halloween! I love your cute figures with their spindly wire legs at each placesetting to pair with your spooky salad plates! Orange and black is such a classic Halloween combination and I love it repeated in your checked napkins with skeletal hand napkin rings. So many cute characters on your sideboard too! As always it’s a treat to join you at the table and hop with you. Happy October ♥
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Mary! I tend to gravitate towards orange and black hues for Halloween and decided on an immersive experience with a touch of white. All my cute things came together in those colors (except for Frankenstein, but he was irresistible!). This hop was such fun!
DeleteYour ghostly hollow table is so cute! Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cecilia! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
DeleteLove your spooky tablescape, Sandra. The spider web placemats are awesome. Love all your details. The checked napkins are really cute.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carol! The placemats were such fun to use. They are thicker than expected and stand out against the orange cloth. I love how bold the napkins are; while they don’t really say “Halloween”, I’m not sure when else I can use them. Hmmm, gotta think hard lol!
DeleteSandra, I love those Halloween plates. They definitely set the tone for your fun Halloween table. Those skeleton napkin rings are a hoot. Love the tree was a centerpiece. All your Halloween pieces are still to be treasured.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Carol! I had a lot of fun gathering items for this table, most of it already in the house — or the yard, in the case of the centerpiece!
DeleteWhat a fun Halloween table setting! I'm featuring you this week at the #HomeMattersParty. Hope to see you drop by!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Allyson, I’m glad you enjoyed it! And thank you for including me in the features Friday!
DeleteSandra, I love how your table is appropriate for all ages. The friendly ghosts and goblins are adorable! I especially like your twig centerpiece with the bats and ghosts. The plates are super cute, too. It was fun hopping with you. Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteRebecca (Zucchini Sisters)
Thanks so much, Rebecca! Halloween above all should be fun. What can be more fun than getting ready for trick-or-treaters!
