A Tropical Beach Tray: Dreaming of Travel

Where do you dream of traveling to? Top of the list for my husband is a beach — the more tropical the better! So I styled a tray to tide him over until we get the chance to vacation at the beach!

Today I'm pleased to be joining Katherine from Katherine's Corner and some of her talented friends for a By the Sea on a Tray blog tour. If you're coming from Celebrate and Decorate, welcome! I just loved Chloe's coastal accents.

Using items I already had in the house, I started with a turquoise tray that is the color of tropical seas. Fun plates edged in bamboo and appetizer plates depicting palm trees decided the theme: cocktails on the beach!

To replicate a carefree state of mind on a mythical island, I used stemware etched with palm trees for water and ceramic glasses for a selection of tropical drinks. Can't you just feel the pleasant breezes and see the lovely views?

In the opposite corner sits a cookie jar which has a different type of palm tree painted on each side. It holds a selection of  Greg's favorite treats from the Honolulu Cookie Company. Luckily for him, they ship! (I receive no compensation from them — we just love their cookies.)

Swimming in the deep blue sea are colorful fish that you may remember from Under the Sea. They dart among shells, two of which hold colored artisanal salt.

You'll also find corals there, represented in two paperweights from my collection.

I hope you've enjoyed sharing my (virtual) vacation at the beach! To see another post that has the theme of dreaming of travel, I invite you to visit Dreaming of Paris.

For more beachy inspiration, please continue the tour and visit Katherine's Corner. Then I'm sure you'll enjoy discovering them all!

    1. Thanks, Rachelle! Sorry for the delay in responding -- I've had "technical" issues this week with my internet. I suppose it could possibly be user error...though I think it's computer gremlins lol.
