Ideas for Father's Day Table Settings

Fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, husbands, uncles — all types of father figures are celebrated each June on Father's Day! While they should be celebrated throughout the year, having a designated day to do so encourages us to reflect perhaps just a bit more about the impact they've had on our lives.

You can celebrate with gifts, fun activities, special experiences, just about anything! One way of course, is to serve a wonderful meal and linger long after to talk and enjoy their company.

I've not posted a table strictly for Father's Day, but I have set a number for my husband which may appeal to the fathers in your life. So if you're wondering what kind of table to style for Father's Day, my suggestion is to set one that reflects his interests or your shared experiences. Here are a few ideas to inspire you.

For the water-loving guy . . .

there's the beach get-away recreated in Where Palms Beckon with natural textures and the colors of the sea — and plenty of palm trees.

For the father who loves animals . . .

there's wonderful dishware and ceramic figurines like those I used in Setting the Table for a November Birthday. My dishes feature dogs but there's an amazing array to be found.

For the one who loves adventure . . .

there is the table I set to suggest a safari complete with cameras in Dreaming of Travel. You could also style tables with skiing, camping or fishing trips in mind.

For the man who wants to see the world . . .

there's the table imagining what he'll see when we travel overseas in Dreaming of Paris. Or you could set it with mementos of wonderful places he has been.

For the guy who enjoys sports of all kinds . . .

there's the table designed as an ode to horse racing in A Run for the Triple Crown.  Of course there's all types of sports paraphernalia that could be used.

And for the father who is an avid collector or art lover . . .

there's the one that showcased hand-crafted beauty in Setting the Table with Art. Other ideas could center around musical instruments, hobbies or art supplies.

I hope I've given you some ideas for setting a fun table for Father's Day. Enjoy your celebration whatever it may be!

  1. Sandra, you have put together a beautiful collection of Father's Day-inspired tables. They are all so lovely and unique that it is difficult to choose a favorite. Maybe the dogs, but then there is the pottery one or the beach getaway - see what I mean lol. I think it's so great when the guys have a tablescape all their very own and I'm sure your husband has enjoyed them all. Thanks for sharing and have a lovely rest of the week!

  3. Lovely ideas! The Dreaming of Paris is so elegant. I'm a beach girl myself, so I gravitate towards that one. The glass is such a great touch. Visiting from the Crazy Little Lovebirds link party.
