Doing Some Background Blog Cleanup and Updates

Hello friends! It's been a strange weather pattern here for the last few days. In a single day we'll move through periods of light rain, overcast skies, sunny skies, and hard rainfalls — then repeat. Through it all the humidity has hovered north of 80%.

Between dashes through the rain with our puppy Finn, I've been working on all the "stuff" that's required to create, photograph and publish posts. Most of the stuff streamlines my processes or enhances the look of my blog. I have to say I've learned quite a bit about the "stuff" since I first started blogging!

The latest changes were brought about by the demise of software called Feedburner, which was the email system I used to send the latest blog posts to subscribers. I've decided to try MailChimp, which is widely used by bloggers and small businesses.

Please forgive a few hiccups along the way as I transition to MailChimp. (I think a test email or two was inadvertently sent out earlier — sorry if you received it.)

I believe I've successfully moved all active subscribers to the new mail service; you should continue to receive info on new posts automatically. If not, please sign up for the new mail service in the right sidebar.

Thanks for your patience. And thank you for subscribing!

Update: Sending a big thank you to Linda @ Life and Linda who straightened out all my MailChimp issues and designed an eye-catching logo for the emails. Thanks!!

  1. Sandra, isn’t it amazing what we have learned about blogging through the years. It is so interesting to read our very first blog posts and compare. I was happy to help you with MailChimp. It can be quite frustrating to figure out the right email setup. My pleasure to design a logo for you. I love to do that for bloggers who don’t have one. Enjoy and thank you so much for the shout out.

    1. I'm not a natural techie, so I generally muddle through, learning as I go. I miss those old "XX for Dummies" books I relied on when desktop computers were the new thing, lol!

    1. Linda, I can't thank you enough for fixing things. I was about to raise the white flag (which wouldn't have been a great conclusion). Stay cool!

  5. Hi Sandra! Linda is such a big help!! I re-signed up, just in case. :) This reminds me that I need to contact Linda to ask about making my logo bigger and with many more pixels, something I can easily bring over to WP. I just have to be able to download it as a saved image. <3

Well, sorry I forgot to get over here last Wed/Thurs. but I DID feature this post at last week's Share Your Style for you. <3 I love the clouds...

Hope you are having a great start to your week,
    Hugs,
    Barb :)

    1. Thanks, Barb! I find figuring out how to do all the tech stuff very frustrating. I'm just not a techie at heart and I don't find it to be self-evident. *sigh*
I saw that you had featured my post and wanted to thank you again!
