Bunnies and Blossoms

Spring is officially here! Time to set a table for spring and Easter brunches!

I gathered an assortment of bunnies and placed them in the center and at each place setting.

Medium blue plates in a trellis design are set on placemats in spring hues. Trellises are forever associated with garden flowers and seemed the perfect complement to the table theme.

Pairs of small bunnies on coordinating trays are the cutest salt and pepper shakers!

On top of the plate stack are egg cups filled with faux eggs, which will be replaced by real eggs at brunch.

This bunny pair doesn't have an under tray, so I set them on flower coasters in pretty colors. I think the coasters play off the black and white bunnies. I love that they're munching on tiny carrots!

Down the center of the table on faux leaves are larger bunnies sporting pink and green bows. They're surrounded by fun carrots and more eggs. Do you see the baby bunnies frolicking on her back?

This one has been caught sitting in the flowers!

The vase overflows with spring blossoms from my garden — cherry branches, daffodils and the last of the camellias.

I added the first blooms from the white azaleas to the centerpiece,

as well as the pink blossoms from our native azalea shrub. The leaves were plucked from the camellia next to the side door.

I love the detail on each of the bunnies!

The egg cups are sweetly covered in flowers, with butterflies and bees. Sparkling gold rims both the cups and the china.

I've used lavender napkins with a pretty crocheted edge. And to bring the table up a notch, I brought out our wedding silver, which we use quite often. I've found that the more you use silver, the less you have to polish it (which is a good thing!).

Rather than purchasing flower napkin rings, I attached packaged craft flowers to rings I already had. A simple and inexpensive way to enhance everyday napkin holders.

I love to blend new with vintage -- in this case, lovely goblets in just the right shade of plum. Or is it a deep amethyst? The goblets change with the light, as seen in Lunch with Violets and Irises.

Did I mention that the placemats feature bunnies, eggs and flowers? When the plates are cleared away, they will remain a while longer.

I've set the vintage coffee service on the buffet, and once again added a riot of faux tulips. Mixing garden flowers with silk ones is a favorite way to bring color and beauty inside our house.

A table full of blossoms and bunnies!

    1. I wish! No, we found the tea service in Atlanta's Miami Circle about 20 years ago and the candelabra we bought from a friend who has an antique business.

  8. Sandra, I love your tablescape! Oh my, those trellis plates are wonderful, and the F&F bunnies too. I am most in love with the fact that you could pluck your flowers from the garden - so, so beautiful. It is breathtaking. The waxy leaves of the camellias are perfect for the arrangement, and the riot of color makes me smile. Thanks so much for linking to us in the Spring & Easter Joys party. Happy Easter!
