I can see it — can you? Spring is quickly coming into view and I am ready for it! I'm ready for the warmth of longer days and for the greening of my garden.
While the trees have yet to leaf out, the last of my camellias are covered in lovely pink flowers and spring bulbs have begun to bloom in the garden. Together they've inspired a blossoming table! Come and view it with me!
I'm especially delighted today to be joining a group of stylists for a wonderful blog hop organized by Rita of Panoply. Please join me in visiting the other stylists' tablescapes linked at the bottom of this post for a variety of ways to welcome Spring!
I first laid a jacquard table runner in a pretty shade of fresh green that has charming spring bulbs woven throughout. I placed it directly on the table to simulate the bare earth awakening after the winter. Then I added vases filled with flowers to echo the colors I can see through my windows.
More flowers in the same tints cover the rims of the salad plates, which sit on solid white plates and silver-colored chargers. Napkins are also held by flowers in deep pink, soft yellow and cream. The place settings are completed by two types of stemware and my everyday flatware.
in the color of both the ranunculus and hydrangeas of the centerpiece. I love the effect of the profusion of flowers down the center of the table! Spring and flowers are inseparably entwined for me and you'll often find flowers gracing my spring tables, such as A Table Blooms in Blue and Lavender.
In this side view you can readily see that the flowers, admittedly 'silk', are in three separate vases.
I love that the salad plates have a wavy edge that is rendered in a deep green. It's a simpler treatment than that of the dinner plates which is gently scalloped with a finely raised, structural relief.
On both ends of the centerpiece are ceramic swan candle holders. One is in the process of alighting, the other has settled into a bed of tulips. I like how they bring the sleek beauty of porcelain onto the table runner. You can also see the lovely floral weave of the runner.
Two colors of hyacinths are currently blooming in the front yard — purple and striped pink. They are usually noshed on by deer before the entire head has bloomed. Unfortunately they are toxic to dogs, so I can't plant them in our fenced back yard where Finn would surely nibble them.
But I have them among the flowers on these napkins, which I included in the place settings at the ends of the table to add more colors to the table.
The vase in the center is taller than the other two, and also holds taller flower stems. It continues with white and deep pink flowers, but adds blue agapanthus instead of the lilacs.
With the spring temps, sunshine and a bit of rain, daffodils have opened all over the yard. I love daffodils because they're hardy, deer resistant and look so cheery, even when we had 0 degree nights. They were featured in last week's Magical Irish Tablesetting along with the camellias.
To enhance the pink colors on the table I selected some of my favorite vintage crystal wine glasses. I love what is described as their optic swirl and the horizontal wafer on the stem. Next to them are mid-century iced tea glasses with a lovely etched pattern.
The versatile three-vase styling allows two of the vases to be relocated to the buffet so that conversation can more easily flow across the table, leaving only the middle vase on the runner, which still provides a stunning centerpiece.
The lilac tissue paper provides another lovely colorway while handily hiding the flower stems. Lavender candles on convertible pillar holders are a muted echo of the lilacs.
All the vases have a modern rectangular shape.
I can't think of a better way of welcoming spring into the house when it comes into view than with flowers. I hope yours is filled with lovely colors on a blossoming table.

Sandra, your table is overflowing with spring blooms and I love it! The camellias are particularly striking and you've styled such a lovely table!
ReplyDeleteSandra, you have brought color to my morning!! How fun to see all the beautiful colors nature can bring to us through all the different types of flowers! Your flowers reflect your plate rims so well. I hope you have a joyous spring! πΏπΈ
ReplyDeleteJust wonderful...Your camellias made me swoon! What stunning Green table runner!
ReplyDeleteThis bouquet of colors on your table is stunning (the snow just melted here). This pretty table makes me so anxious for spring!
ReplyDeleteI am seeing so many gorgeous flowers on the tablescapes that I have looked at today. You all have me so envious. You have flowers coming up. Around here. Nothing. I do have chives coming up, but that’s hardly the same. I mean, you can’t fill a vase with chives. Your table looks lovely. I am really loving those swan candlestick holders. I’ve never seen anything like that before.
ReplyDeleteLots of touches of spring Sandra. Your flowers are lovely. The plates fit in nicely with your florals. I am seeing Lady Banks blooming at our home now. Spring is almost here. Always a pleasure joining you.
ReplyDeleteSandra, the profusion of flowers down the center is so pretty. The jacquard runner and napkins are a lovely shade of green with charming spring bulb design. Your floral salad plates complement the flowers perfectly. I always enjoy seeing your glassware. The vintage crystal wine glasses are beautiful and I love their color. It is always a pleasure to join you at the table. Wishing you a beautiful Spring and Easter!
ReplyDeleteSandra, your mix of your collected elements is wonderful on your spring table. I am envious of your camellia bush outside your door, and the way you've brought all the colors of spring florals to your table setting is beautiful. I especially love the jacquards linens on the bare wood of the table and the analogy of seeing that outdoors. I always love the look of wet bark and mulch after a rain against the greens of emerging leaves! Your dinnerware is classy, but I am always enamored with your glassware choices. The optic swirl wines are so colorful, just lovely, while the Tiffin remains timeless in its design. Convertible glassware pillars?! I've seen convertible silver candelabras but never glass! Do show how those convert sometime, please! The swans are perfect accents for your spring table. Thank you for bringing your style finesse by joining the spring hop, and Happy Spring!
ReplyDeleteI do not have a lot of spring decor but I have a little spot with bees and a few pieces here and there. I usually like to start buying a fresh bouquet of flowers every other week until I have some zinnias from the garden.

I love a well-executed floral theme for spring! Stunning!
ReplyDeleteI definitely feel that Spring is in the air looking at your lovely tablescape full of colorful flowers. You are so fortunate to have a camelias plant outside your window and can cut and use them as fresh flowers in your arrangements. I am happy to see that you also have daffodils already growing and showing their bright beautiful yellow flowers. (Wisconsin still got snow today, so I really appreciate see all of this lovely color.) Your colorful plates are a perfect choice for the variety of colors in your floral vases. I am in love with your raspberry colored swirl-stemware. They are so elegant along with your plate stack. I throughly enjoyed your "garden" tablescape and your beautiful florals outside. Happy Easter.
ReplyDeleteSandra I fell in love with your jacquard runner and napkins....what a lovely shade of green (my favorite) and I do see the sweet flower design. I also like the graceful swans...they are so elegant aren't they? I love any kind of flowers but camellias are one of my very favorites and to have them at your back door....wow! Genius to use the lilac tissue paper to not only give a little color but hiding the flower stems. Your plate stack is beautiful in it's simplicity. Have a great and glorious March ...and Happy Easter.

ReplyDeleteYour spring table is just blooming with a plethora of spring colors. It's like walking through a garden. Your daffodils look great and it is so nice to see gardens coming back to life after a long winter. Loved the touches of rose that are in your napkins and carried through to your crystal. I always enjoy seeing what crystal you choose for your table settings. the china works so well with the multi-colored flowers and the pops of rose pulling the table together. Wishing you a lovely spring.

I love the look and the sentiment! I don’t remember ever seeing tissue paper in vases before – that’s brilliant! I love the way it looks with your flowers. And how fun, that they match the beautiful border of the plates! Add in your deep pink glassware and light pink candles, and iIt’s all so cohesively gorgeous! And your camellias are beautiful! We have a pink bush at our house, and its blooms are such a great harbinger of the full spring to come! Happy Spring to you, and take care till next time!
